PARTNERSHIPS

At CREATE, we are working with 120 teachers of English Learners (ELs) for five years (2022-2027), strengthening UMass partnerships with the communities we serve, and promoting additive language policies for multilingual students in Massachusetts. The goal of this educator professional development grant is to amplify EL teacher leadership in districts so that knowledge gained from coursework and family and community activities is applied to teachers’ own classrooms, schools, and districts creating a ripple effect across the school community. 

CREATE completers will build and deepen knowledge, skills and dispositions to become more effective and culturally responsive educators for English Learners while amplifying district-level expertise.
